Prices:
- All prices are FOB factory. Prices do not include
shipping cost or taxes.
- Virginia Sales taxes will be collected on all shipments,
unless we receive or have on file the sales tax number.
- All exempt sales must have a signed Sales Tax Exemption form.
- We
reserve the right to change prices at any time and all orders are subject to
prices prevailing at the time of acknowledgment.
Minimum Orders:
- There are no minimum orders except on a few frames that are
marked as such on the price list.
Terms:
- Our terms are 50% deposit with order and balance before
shipping .
- Goods will not be shipped if payment is not received prior to
ship date.
- Shipping and handling charges will be included on the final
invoice.
- We accept checks, bank draft - wire transfers, Visa or Master
Card.
Styles:
- Standard Styles are available from the catalog, sleepers
are available in 3 sizes:

Queen (5/0), Standard (4/6), and Twin (3/0).
- Sofas are in the same sizes as the Queen and Twin Sleepers.
- Many
groups have matching chairs.
- Ottomans can be offered with many
styles.
Sleepers:
* Mechanisms
- We offer as standard the Leggett & Platt CLASSIC
SQUARE which carries a 3 year warranty.
- For an up-charge, we offer the new Leggett & Platt
CLASSIC SQUARE PROFESSIONAL which carries a 5 year warranty from Leggett & Platt.
This unit has more helical springs.
- Each unit has a 5.5"
innerspring contract mattress as standard and is top of the line.
- We can, upon
request, supply mechanisms from Hickory Springs.
- See product sheet on Mechanisms for additional information and
specs.
- Residential mechanisms are available from most
vendors. These are the ones shipped to retail furniture stores. We
will not offer these for Contract use.
* Mattresses
- A 5.5" innerspring contract mattress is standard with the CLASSIC SQUARE unit
and the CLASSIC PRO unit.
- (This mattress is more commonly
referred to as a 6" contract mattress.)
Fabrics:
* Our Fabrics
- We will purchase fabrics from most any mill or jobbers.
Call for other details.
* C.O.M - Customers Own Material
- All C.O.M. fabrics must be shipped freight prepaid and
include the customers name, purchase order number, name and color of fabric
with yardage included.
- If the fabric is to be applied other than
"Railroaded" and cut and applied as a non-centered and non-matched
pattern, this information must be written on the purchase order.
- All quotations are for plain, non-matched patters that are
to be cut "Railroaded". Additional charges will be added for
centering and/or matching.
- All patterns will be no less than 54" wide.
- Of course, Creative Seating assumes no responsibility for
the quality or wearing of COM fabric.
* Flame Treatment
- Some fabrics can be treated with a flame resistant finish
to meet Boston fire codes.
- To meet the new California schedule 133,
fabrics, padding , frames and all other material must be considered together
as a unit. Some fabrics such as "Trivera" polyester are usually
safe bets to pass 133 if the other material in the frame is selected with
care.
- Keep in mind that only areas with seating for 10 or more people and
the lack of sprinklers calls for 133 to be used.
- There are many patters that will pass the Boston fire code.
Frame Dimensions:
- All dimensions shown in our catalog are approximate.
- We reserve the right to make changes in dimensions design, specification
and/or construction without prior notice.
- The right is reserved to
change any specification or parts at any time. If purchase order has
dimensions written, and we find differences, we will advise customer before
proceeding.
Frame Construction:
- All frames are of kiln dried hardwoods, mostly oak and
maple.
- All stress joints will be doweled, blocked, glued and
screwed for frame integrity, where necessary.
- Seat springs are 8 gauge carbon steel, no-sag type, and
back springs are 12 gauge super loop carbon steel springs.
Foam Construction:
- Seat cushions are 1.8 minimum density and wrapped with a
layer of dacron/polyester.
- Back foam loose cushions are either blown fiber in a
ticking bag or 1.5 density core with a large wrap of polyester batting.
Solid backs will be 1.5 foam with a layer of polyester on the face.
- Our standard foam meets the California 117 FR tests (Fire Retardant).
Wood Finishes:
* Standard Finishes
- See price list for the standard finish for each item.
Some are standard maple finish, some medium oak, others a traditional
mahogany, etc.
* Custom Finishes
- Custom finishes are available. Depending on style and
quantity, a custom finish could be available for a small up-charge or at the
same price. Finishes can usually not be matched exactly, but
compatible finishes are usually satisfactory.
- Send a color chip for us
to use.
Legs - Bases
- Some styles have built-in legs. On some of these items,
casters can only be available for quantities of 50 or more. There will be a
small charge for casters. Some style legs will not accept casters.
- Some styles have screw-in legs, casters are available on
any quantity for a small charge.
- Swivel bases are available on certain chairs, as shown.
Delivery
- Requested delivery time. Full truck load orders can be
scheduled to arrive on certain days - usually AM or PM - upon request.
Orders for less than truck load, via common carrier cannot be guaranteed a
delivery day. We always attempt to find the best delivery company for
the destination... however, we are not responsible for rates on deliveries
of less than truckload. If the customer has a preference, he must advise in
writing.
- Cartons are not included for most items. See price list for
more detail Some carriers will not accept small shipments not in
cartons. We attempt to use furniture carriers who will accept blanket
wrapped, paper wrapped or plastic wrapped furniture for shipment. For
large orders, cartons will waste space, cost more in carton charges and cost
more in freight charges.
- Packing Charges - when necessary for shipment,
cartons will be charged for as follows:
Sleepers and sofas - $25.00 up charge each unit Chairs - $15.00
up charge each unit
Lead Time
- Normal delivery is 6-8 weeks if fabric is available at the
time of order. We will try to set delivery to meet clients need, but
fabric delays either (COM or fabric we supply) can cause unexpected
delays. We can not assume responsibility for delays caused by poor
fabric shipments from the mills or jobbers.
Partial Shipments
- We reserve the right to make partial shipments, and
invoices covering these shipment are to be paid as they fall due.
Returns
- No return of merchandise will be accepted without or
written consent and shipping instructions. CUSTOM ORDERS are NOT returnable.
Held Shipments
- Customer agrees to accept invoice for merchandise and pay
on date due if merchandise is available on requested shipping date and
circumstances cause delay in receiving.
Pre-paid Freight
- On request for accounts with established credit, we will
pre-pay freight. Freight charges will be invoiced at cost plus a 10% service
charge to cover handling costs.
Freight Claims
- We are not responsible for damages or loss incurring in
transit. All furniture is shipped at the responsibility of the carrier
and the customer. Before accepting merchandise from the carrier,
inspect carefully and note any loss or damage on the delivery receipt.
Refusal to accept merchandise from the carrier does not relieve the
purchaser of responsibility of payment and filing necessary claims in the
prescribed manner.
Cancellations and Changes
- Our acceptance of an order is final and binding and not
subject to cancellation by customer. Any requests for change must be made in
writing to our office in Galax, VA, prior to production of goods. We will
advise whether changes at that time are feasible.
Warranty
- The manufacture warrants each product for one year after
purchase to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal
use and service. Under this warranty, any product shall be
promptly returned to the factory, all freight charges pre-paid, and after
inspection and proven defective, shall be repaired or replaced, but in no
case shall liability exceed original purchase price. This warranty is
in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied, and all other
obligations or liabilities on its part, and it neither assumes nor
authorizes any other person to assure for any other liability in connection
with the sale of its products.
- Upholstery fabrics are subject to whatever warranty is
offered by the respective mills only. Creative Seating does not warrant
quality of wear ability of material supplied by the customer (COM).
- Sleeper mechanisms are subject to whatever warranty is
offered by the respective manufacture, see product sheet on
mechanisms.
- This Warranty shall not apply to any product which shall
have been repaired or altered by anyone other than the manufacture in any
way so as - in the judgment of the manufacture - to affect its stability and
reliability, nor which has been subject to abuse, misuse, negligence, or
accident. We will not assume labor charges for unauthorized field
repairs.
Proper Use and Care
- Cushions should be turned over each week to prevent fabric
creep.
- Fabrics should be vacuumed and lightly brushed frequently.
- Certain silicone-based fabric treatments will affect the
backing of some fabrics and cause it to break down and allow seam
slippage. Contact us before using treatments other than Scotchguard
and Teflon.
- Pillows should not be folded away in sleepers, as this
causes undo strain on the side rivets.
- Some fabrics should be cleaned with a water-based cleaner
and others with a solvent (like dry cleaning). We can supply codes on the
fabrics that we purchase.
